Eleven GO TO GOAL! participants took part in the exciting National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, February 28, 2004. Organized by the Girl Scouts of Western North Carolina, the event is a program founded and supported by the Women’s Sports Foundation. For the past six years, girls from all over the Asheville area have been able to take workshops in 3 different sports of choice, including soccer, basketball, cheerleading, football, running, volleyball and swimming. Coaching for each skill session was provided by professional, semi-professional and college level athletes who coach and play in the Asheville area.GO TO GOAL! participants got to enhance their newfound soccer skills, as well as learn or polish up on other sports of interest.

A fun day was had for all! The event served as a good warm up activity for the Spring GO TO GOAL! season, which starts on March 16, 2004.
